3- Day Residential Training Camp for Youth

at National Heritage Centre, Mazhuvancherry, Thrissur
ATMA Foundation organised a 3- Day Residential Camp from 12th- 15th August 2016 at National Heritage Centre, Mazhuvancherry, with the participation of 110 youngsters from various institutions.
The camp commenced on 12th August at 7:00 pm, with an introductory session by camp director C K Suresh, followed by an ice-breaking session by Smt Smitha Keeran Warrier, a Bangalore-based Counsellor & Trainer.
For the formal inauguration at 9:00 am on 13th August, the delegates were fortunate to have a session with Sri Boban Kollannur, former MD of Foster Biscuits, many-time national award winner, renowned management expert and writer, who shared his inspiring story with them.
Throughout the three days, there were topic-based sessions by experts and professional from different fields – ‘Goal Setting’ by Sri Suresh Warrier, Professional Trainer, ‘Self Management’ by Sri Devidas Menon (Eduvision), ‘Leadership’ by Sri Kiran Kesavan (L-Train Academy), Financial Planning by Dr Vijayakumar, Financial Expert, ‘Career Planning’ by Ms Parvathy G, Educator, ‘Communication’ by Ms Smitha Keeran Warrier, Self Development by Sri Manmathan Nair.
The camp also had a session called ‘Meet the Leaders’ – where the delegates interacted with achievers from different fields – Sri Jeff Antony, Architect, Renowned Medical expert Dr Mohan, and Mohiniyattam exponent Ms Pallavi Krishnan.
On 13th evening, there was a lecture-demonstration on Kuchipudi by Ms Dhanya Menon, a cyber-crime investigator by profession and a dancer by passion.
During some of the sessions, the total group was divided into senior and junior age groups, with different trainers handling simultaneous sessions. This ensured the effectiveness of the sessions for all participants.
On Independence Day eve, Ms Nanditha Menon, former Educator at a Bangalore-based Civil Services Coaching institute, organised a quiz on ‘I for India’.
Every day, the delegates had Yoga training sessions by Sri K K Komalakumar, Secretary, ATMA Foundation, who is also a committed Yoga Practitioner and Trainer. There were also games sessions in the evening, where much fun was combined with vigorous physical activity.
Camp Director C K Suresh, with his sessions on ‘I Transform , masterfully created a link between all the different sessions, preparing and inspiring the youngsters to make the best use of the inputs from the camp to achieve their best in Life.
On 15th August, the delegates were blessed by an inspiring session with Dr N Gopalakrishnan, Founder of Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage, who gave them systematic tips on effective living.
Adding a new dimension to the camp, Camp Director C K Suresh was invited as the Chief Guest for the Flag Hoisting Ceremony of Bharatiya Vidya Vihar School in the National Heritage Centre Campus. He also gave the Independence Day address to the entire staff and students of the school. A very special thanks to the school authorities for their thoughtful gesture.
During the valedictory session on 15th August, which was also attended by the parents, the delegates gave very positive feedbacks about the camp, with promises of personal transformation. ATMA Volunteers and parents also gave comments and feedbacks. The camp concluded with the valedictory address by C K Suresh.
